BREAKING UPDATE


As you have all noticed we have replaced the Speed Breaking division with Three Directional Breaking.
 

So you ask what is Three Directional Breaking. Allow  me to explain. We are no longer doing speed breaking. ISKA has introduced a new division in its place. One which is more technical and requires as much mental preparation as physical. It's called three directional break and its part of the ISKA World Championships Breaking Division.


A competitor will be allowed to do three different strikes on three stacks of wooden boards. The stacks can be placed on H-blocks or can be held by people. The three strikes MUST be in three different directions and must be three different strikes. Once the first strike was executed, the competitor may not draw, pull back or reset.
The second strike must follow immediately after the first and the third immediately after the second in a flowing motion which does not require haste. There is no timing involved, but strikes must have no hesitation between breaks. The wood boards may be stacked together with spacers as used in the Power breaking. Up until now, the Three Directional breaking division has been on hold due to difficulty In finding a sponsor for this division. Purchasing the wood and preparing it from any hardware store comes down to R15 plus for a single board. And we are well aware of the cost implications of someone doing 20 to 25 boards on a three directional break at R15 per board. Therefore we continued to search for solutions.

 

We have managed to find a sponsor for the boards at the last minute and therefore we will be able to supply the boards at R6 each.
 

You might have noticed that we have not included the orders for the wood in the waiver forms. Therefore we need to ask that if you are interested in the three directional wood breaking and need to order wood boards for your creative breaking and/or three directional wood division, that you follow the procedures as set below please.

 

1.     Send an email with the Competitor's NAME and amount of wood boards to

2.     Calculate your cost by multiplying your wood boards with R6.
(remember to order for 3 directional & creative breaking)

3.     Bring this EXACT AMOUNT to the breaking table on FRIDAY 5 AUGUST to
receive your collection slip for your wood boards.

4.     If you have ordered boards but decide to cancel your division YOU
WILL STILL BE LIABLE FOR THE COST OF THE BOARDS
