DESTINY UPDATE 2011

Kindly please take note as to the following important updates regarding Instructors Packages, MMA Gloves, Tournament times and Venue Directions.

INSTRUCTORS PACKAGES
(For those Instructors that pre-registered)

All instructors packages will be ready for collection at the venue this Thursday night between 18:00h and 20:00h. These packages as previously explained will consist of your teams individual fighters cards, entry bands for both competitors and supporters, copy of your original entry registration sheets, copy of your T-Shirt order should you have pre placed one, Coach Tags which allows you access to the competition floor, Event Schedule for both days, USA Tour pamphlet,  and all competitors attendance certificates.

Please take note that you must collect your package at the venue on Thursday night. We have well over 1000 entries and if everyone waits till Friday morning to obtain their package we will end up with a serious bottle neck at registration and entrance. Saying this, the tournament begins with the commencement of all first divisions in all rings 8:30 sharp without any delay.

It is very important that you bring all individual waivers with you for all your members that they had to complete and hand in to you at the Dojo. NO COMPETITOR WILL BE ABLE TO COMPETE WITHOUT HANDING IN A WAIVER WHICH HAS BEEN SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR COACH. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RECEIVE YOUR PACKAGE AT ANY TIME SHOULD YOU NOT FIRST HAND IN YOUR ENVELOPE WITH WAIVERS FROM ALL COMPETITORS. Should you forget to do so, you would need to complete all waivers from all competitors again before we can issue them with fight cards & entry to the venue.

Please ensure you have the following with you at collections:

• 1 waiver p/competitors
• Original deposit slip for entries
• Original T-Shirt order (if applicable)

MMA LIGHT & MMA SPORT FULL GLOVES

All divisions pertaining to MMA will require the use of NMA/ISKA approved Gloves only. These are special gloves combining open fingers for grappling but also extra padding for light / semi contact. NO STANDARD MMA TRAINING GLOVES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THESE DIVISIONS. We will have  2 pairs at each table in case but for Hygiene reasons you really should rather obtain your own pair.

FRIDAY:

08:00h – REFEREE / JUDGES / OFFICIALS BRIEFING

08:15h – ALL OFFICIALS / REFEREES & JUDGES PROCEED TO THEIR RINGS AND COMMENCE CALLING OUT THE FIRST DIVISIONS TO COME TO THE TABLE

08:30h – FIRST FIGHT IN EACH DIVISION COMMENCES ON THE COMMAND OF TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR.

SATURDAY:

07:30h – DOORS OPEN (FOR ENTRY TO VENUE / NEW REGISTRATIONS / WEIGH IN / PURCHASE SPECTATORS PASS)

08:00h – REFEREE / JUDGES / OFFICIALS BRIEFING

08:15h – ALL OFFICIALS / REFEREES & JUDGES PROCEED TO THEIR RINGS AND COMMENCE CALLING OUT THE FIRST DIVISIONS TO COME TO THE TABLE

08:30h – FIRST FIGHT IN EACH DIVISION COMMENCES ON THE COMMAND OF TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR.

12:00h- AWARD CEREMONY – HONOUREE AWARDS FOR ALL ATTENDING NMA AFFILIATED INSTRUCTORS AND SPECIAL GUESTS

UNKNOWN TIME: AS SOON AS TOURNAMENT IS FINISHED FOR THE DAY WE SET UP FOR THE NIGHT SHOW – ALL FINALS OF GRAND CHAMPIONSHIPS DIVISIONS / DEMO’S AND BREAKING FINALS.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE AS TO THE FOLLOWING VENUE/TOURNAMENT RESTRICTIONS AND LAWS.

• NO SMOKING IS PERMITTED BY THE CITY OF CAPE TOWN IN THE VENUE OR ANYWHERE NEAR THE ENTRANCE BOTH OUTSIDE AND IN. A DEDICATED SMOKING SECTION WILL BE ALLOCATED AT THE FURTHEST EXIT AT THE FAR SIDE OF THE VENUE. PLEASE UNDERSTAND CLEARLY THAT NO SMOKING WILL BE PERMITTED ANYWHERE NEAR THE ENTRANCE IN ANY WAY!
• ALL COMPETITION FLOORS WILL BE SECTIONED OFF WITH EMERGENCY TAPE. NO SPECTATOR, PARENT OR COMPETITOR THAT IS NOT CURRENTLY COMPETING WILL BE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE ALLOWED WITHIN THIS AREA. IF ANYONE IS IN THAT AREA THAT DOES NOT HAVE AN OFFICIAL TAG THEY WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. PLEASE INSTRUCT YOUR TEAM MEMBERS AND SUPPORTERS ACCORDINGLY. THE VENUE HAS A HUGE SPECTATORS GRAND STAND THAT EVERYONE SEATED CAN SEE EVERY INCH OF THE VENUE FROM.
• HOWEVER, WITH REGARDS TO JUNIORS AGED BETWEEN 5 AND 9 YEARS (BUT ONLY FOR POINTS & CONTINUOUS FIGHTING – NOT FORMS/KATA) WE WILL ALLOW 1 PARENT TO ACCOMPANY THEM TO THE RING TO ASSIST AND SUPPORT.
• PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF AND DO NOT LITTER THE VENUE. THERE ARE 20 BINS PLACED THROUGHOUT THE VENUE FOR REFUSE. KINDLY MAKE USE OF THEM.
• PARKING IS RESTRICTED TO BOTTOM LEVEL FOR ALL COMPETITORS (BY LAW OF CITY COUNCIL) THE TOP PARKING IS FOR EMERGENCY AND MEDICAL PERSONAL ONLY. THESE MEMBERS HAVE VEHICLE STICKERS TO BE IDENTIFIED. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PROCEED TO TOP LEVEL WITH A CAR WITHOUT SUCH IDENTIFICATION. THERE WILL BE A SECURITY PERSON AT THE GATE WITH A RADIO SHOULD A DISABLED PERSON NEED PERMISSION TO BE BROUGHT UP TO THE ENTRANCE BUT EVEN IN THIS CASE, THE VEHICLE MAY NOT BE PARKED, IT MUST RETURN TO THE LOWER PARKING LEVEL. (SEE DIAGRAM IN ATTACHMENT)
• YOU WILL SEE THAT THERE IS A SLOPED EMBANKMENT AROUND THE ARENA (CYCLE TRACK) NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO BE STANDING IN THAT AREA AT ANY TIME OF THE EVENT. MORE IMPORTANTLY, NO ONE IS ALLOWED T BE EATING OR DRINKING IN THIS AREA AS WELL. THE CITY OF CAPE TOWN HAS ITS OWN SECURITY AT THE VENUE TO ENFORCE ANY CITY LAWS. BREAKING ANY OF THESE LAWS COULD RESULT IN US LOSING THE VENUE OR BEING SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE TOURNAMENT. THIS WE WILL NOT STAND FOR SO PLEASE UNDERSTAND, ANYONE OF YOUR MEMBERS BREAKING ANY OF THESE RULES WILL BE ASKED ONCE ONLY TO REFRAIN, AFTER THAT THEY WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE VENUE IMMEDIATELY.

CAMERA & VIDEO

All spectators are welcome to film and shoot any aspect of the tournament for personal use only. No one is allowed to utilise film or photos of any part of destiny for any promotional or media coverage of any kind without written consent from NMA Head Office directly.  YOU MAY NOT HOWEVER TAKE ANY PHOTOS OR VIDEO ON THE ACTUAL COMPETITION FLOOR. YOU MUST DO SO FROM THE SPECTATORS STANDS ONLY.

PLEASE DO NOT BE THE CAUSE OF SECURITY CONSTANTLY HAVING TO CHASE YOU FROM THE FIGHTING ARENA.

There will be Official Photographers on the floor who will be clearly identifiable by special Tags. Only these personal are allowed with cameras onto the floor. The photos they take will be on sale at the venue for an affordable fee.

TROPHY ENGRAVING PLATE

AN ENGRAVING SERVICE WILL BE ON HAND AT THE VENUE. Each award has a place on the trophy to place a individualised engraving plate. This will also be offered at a very affordable price to all competitors.

PODIUM PHOTOS

There is a 1^st 2^nd & 3^rd place podium placed next to the Trophy & Data collection point. Feel free to make use of it for personal remembrance photos.
